Howard Hunt's son- St. John- with photos of him with Alex Jones and stories about Roger Stone. Wow. They really go back in history in this vein, don't they?
Seth, I really appreciate all of your work. This is enlightening as always. There are a few other lines of questions which I think are worth pursuing:
1. Who funded Stop the Steal? The Kochs are well known for astroturfing supposed grass root movements like the Tea Party. The Mercers seem to be connected to all things Trumpy/ Far Right including Cambridge Analytica, Breitbart, Parler, Steve Bannon and I suspect Citizens United.
2. Is Steve Bannon connected? I read reports that he was the one driving Trump towards the "go over the voters to the state legislators" idea. He also has military tactical experience which would have been helpful in tactical planning of the insurrection (some of the concepts were actually quite creative partisan warfare: create a distraction with a bomb, break through the lines early to catch them when they have weak defenses, have a vanguard removing key barriers and directing the mob, and using the mob to distract the Police while they attempt to carry out their mission).
3. What roll did Qanon play? Was Q in on it? Who is Q (Flynn? Stone? Bannon? All three?). Qanon not only helped accelerate the big lie, it perpetuated the concept that the President had superseding authority over congress as well as all civilians, which explains why many rioters were under the impression that what they were doing was not only moral but also legal. It was the original source of the idea that the President would declare martial law (something Mike Flynn promoted), which many rioters like the Oath Keepers seem to have been under the impression would happen during or after the rally. Q was weaponized by the Stop the Steal movement, especially through Sidney Powell, Mike Flynn and Jim Watkins.
Surely there must be extensive CCTV from the Jan 5 Trump International Hotel meeting, of the insurrection plotters coming and going. Also WH Visitors' Log must now be accessible.
Where's Ali Alexander (né Ali Abdul-Razaq Akbar), convicted felon and Nazi sympathizer, in all of this? Recall that before the insurrection, he was with Jones in Georgia stoking the flames of insurrection. On the day of the insurrection, Ali stood on the roof of a nearby building, at a safe distance from the insurrection violence, stating, "And what's happening now is exactly what I've warned about." He shows no sense of panic or dismay at the unfolding events -- not the reaction of an outsider. Since January 6th, Ali has been in hiding, claiming he's "hiding in the mountains," which we know is utter crap. So, who's hiding him? My guess is someone with deep pockets.
