Nancy Pelosi (by getting a majority vote in the House to proceed) should press a civil case against Trump and anyone else wishing to serve in public office. Denying the legitimacy of the 2020 election results is now flat-out sedition. Ask the Court for an injunction against politicians declaring the 2020 election "rigged". If they don't comply, request the Court apply the 14th Amendment banning these people from government service. Government officials at all levels of government have absorbed the message that it's OK to promote the seditious Big Lie because Trump and the Big Lie have not been challenged in Court as criminal sedition.

"Cease and desist" orders are appropriate in slander cases and that is exactly what is happening here. Congress has been slandered, our democratic institution of fair elections has been slandered, our Constitution has been slandered. Again, it is a crime of sedition, no doubt.

Merrick Garland can join this (Pelosi) case or not. It should not wait for the AG and criminal charges. Put this case before the Court and the "court" of public opinion NOW!

The Big Lie cancer has taken root.

I love how you write, Seth. Those of us who are consuming huge amounts of media/ texts and /or in Grad School appreciate your taking the time to lay your case out as if in a court of law, especially including your own already vetted case law. A wonderful read in this age of "sound bites" which creates no real understanding of the complexities or nuances that a critical reader needs.

Bulgarian media claims that units of the Russian Military Intelligence (GRU) were involved in the Jan. 6 insurrection. I have thought the insurrection looked a lot like what is happening in E. Europe, too. The English is a bit rough and they don't have easy links. I don't know anything about their reputation, but it is the first time I have seen my suspicions in the media. The article was right after the Insurrection.

Important quote:

“Tactics, used in the storming of the Capitol, recalls the methods used by the Russians in the yellow vest protests in France and the supporters of Catalonia’s independence. It’s about and filtering people with combat training in the crowd during riots, in order to inflame and escalate the protests and then to help the protesters to invade infrastructure and government sites. In addition, the Capitol assault itself is reminiscent of the tactics used by Russian special forces to seize parliament in Crimea, Ukraine, and state institutions in eastern Ukraine in 2014, “the study authors explained.

The IGTDS states that The Kremlin is covering up its operations in other countries behind protests and riots. This is done by infiltrating GRU employees into protest movements – Russian agents create a “military wing” in them, develop agitation campaigns, spread conspiracy theories, attract influential figures to these movements.

These units are very secret, but if you google GRU Unit 29155, there are some good articles about a GRU unit that does organize coups that appear to be local uprisings. The Russians often pretend to be someone else on the Internet. The GRU invaded the Crimean Parliament in mufti* but with cool Russian military equipment. They pretended to be local Russians who wanted Crimea to be independent from Ukraine. The real goal was to give Crimea to Russia. We see this tactic in the radical organizations that attacked the Capitol. Sometimes, they pretend to be Antifa or BLM.

I hope someone is studying this possibility and not just assuming the Russians would never dare to do this. Well, they have already dared to attack us. Members of some GRU units were indicted based on information in the Mueller Report. Those units were doing hacking and influence operations on the Internet.

* "in mufti" British slang: Mufti refers to plain or ordinary clothes, especially when worn by one who normally wears, or has long worn, a military or other uniform. (civvies)

I am not sure I am right, but Jan. 6 sure looks like a Russian operation to me.

Thanks for your digging. Suggestion from a subscriber for making your articles easier to grok: Please use inverted pyramid news-writing style so that the nut graf is up top, and not buried six long grafs down after a preamble reminding us of your previous reporting. You can loop back to all the refreshers and caveats after you give us the new news.

These intentional, deep forays by Trump into local election details are giving both Trumpers and foreign bad actors in-depth knowledge about which counties use "air gaps" and which do not, which use thumb drive backups vs. those that use other media or means, etc.. These appear to be scoping visits designed to make plans for disrupting future elections.

Ok. I can’t wait until Seth’s Lauren Boebert report coming tonight. What are the chances that Lauren Boebert is the pipe bomber from the night of January 5th? I put the odds at 50% or higher. Just my opinion after reading plenty and reviewing the tapes frame by frame. Comments.

The same sort of effort, doing an "audit" in a state Trump won, is going on in Oregon.

"Henderson added they will take home lessons learned from the Arizona audit.

"I'm the chair of the local Deschutes Republican committee. We have an election integrity subcommittee that is going to be looking at the processes in our county and then trying to share this with other state officials and work through some of these questions that have been raised, just watching this," he said.

It's unclear what the election integrity subcommittee Henderson referenced does. Both Henderson and Knowles didn't respond to a request for comment, but it is likely connected to the Oregon First Audit Chat. The Oregon First Audit Chat, an online forum, formed on June 8, and in just a few months its following swelled to over 5,000, with about 400 active members online during the day. They partnered with Seth Keshel, a former Army captain and baseball analyst who has amassed a following on Telegram focusing on alleged election fraud, and aiding regional channels. Keshel has over 150,000 followers on Telegram and there's an audit channel for all 50 states."

Seth, I live in Douglas County Colorado, home of Joe Oltmann. With a couple of my friends, we're establishing a free website (nonprofit) to cover the alt-right extremism occuring in our area and Colorado, and how these entities are tied with national policies coming from CNP and other tanks. You have a lot to offer in terms of content. How can we post your articles and avoid the paywall that would keep our readers from accessing your wisdom?
