I know everyone is saying this is a sad day for America to put a former American President, I beg to differ. The SAD DAY in AMERICA was the day this former president was elected. The day the Republican Party became a cult of personality.

I fully agree with you! This is the day that America finally starts to hold people accountable for their actions!

Extremely scary watching a first world country degrade to 2nd world status under Trump.

Have a feeling that some republicans in high places have their knives out for him,, too. Because if he is elected again, it will be revenge time. And wouldn't put it past him, to persecute his opposition, like DeSantis and Pence.

Agree!

I hear you, but, IMHO, it IS tragic that: 1) we elected such a known crook and traitor to the presidency, 2) that he almost destroyed our democracy in one term, and 3) that we must now prosecute a former POTUS for treasonous crimes against the nation.

That said, it is a victory for democracy and the rule of law that Tr$mpo has been indicted for some of his many crimes. I look forward to his trial, conviction, and sentencing, which will assure the victory of the rule of law.

Donald Trump is a US citizen who just happened to be elected president. So what!! There have been other citizens who have been charged for the same crimes. Some were executed. The man is a liar, cheat and thief, etc. Throw the book at him. He f’ed over our country in so many ways, wether you believe it or not. Oh, and throw the book at those who helped him get us in this mess. Good evening all!

Oh, uh... I deleted Twitter from my phone assuming Seth was done there.

I don't really care *where* I get my Seth updates, I want to avoid missing out.

Makelessnoise, same here but you can still read Seth's tweets and everyone else's, you just can't like or comment.

Which is fine - no biggie to read it in a browser - but I'd have to know to check there for content. It wasn't until this OP that I realized he was still posting on Twitter at all.

I deleted twitter too ! Ha

The far right echo chamber is loosing their minds - treat yourself to some talk radio tonight- I bet people will call in crying. I had someone leave a note on my car because I have a Trump 20-24 years in prison sticker on my car. This person was so angry at it. wrote I was self righteous, and to “wake up all politicians are corrupt”, amongst other comments I care not to repeat.

Oh boy , I know that person is probably giving their debit card number to the RNC for lots more $$$.

Seth, if Trump was convicted and sentenced to prison, how would that work given his Secret Service protection?

Expand full comment

They would would become Prison Security Guards

Expand full comment

Who cares?I think he should be convicted and sentenced first so this becomes a real issue... I'm sure we can solve the Secret Service detail issues.

But he's going to have to be held in maximum security prison, so his supporters aren't emboldened to stage all kinds of sh** to spring him from confinement.

Sending huge regards to you today, Seth. Hours and hours, banging away on your keyboard (but not with the caps lock on!) and all of that information and insight you shared with us has kept us going. Every tad of information has proved so valuable to the January 6th Committee and, I'm sure, the states investigating his many crimes. Spend time with the people you love and have a terrific day. Saluting you, sir, from across the Pond.

Seth, for poison ivy, use Technu solution to remove the poison ivy oil from both your dogs and you. I heard they came out with an aftercare product for people like yourself who have blisters already.

Expand full comment

Yes. Also, you can buy a bar soap called Fels Naphtha from a hardware store and it will wash the poison off too.

Catherine, according to Wikipedia, the ingredient which removed poison ivy oil, naphtha, was removed from the soap because it's a carcinogenic.

I just went and read the page and found this:

“It was often used as a home remedy in the treatment of contact dermatitis caused by exposure to poison ivy, poison oak, and other oil-based organic skin-irritants where they have touched the skin but not yet inflamed the area.[9] When the soap contained its namesake naphtha, washing the skin directly with the soap helped remove urushiol, the allergen associated with poison ivy. As with other strong detergents, the revised formulation retains this capability.” SO IT STILL WORKS!

I had to do this one in real time as information came in, so it ended up on the Twitter feed connected to Proof. I definitely do not plan to have this be a regular occurrence. But it does work on those occasions I am producing something that will be free to all; in that case, sending it out as a Substack article lets Proof subscribers know where to go to see the real-time, unfolding analysis. Not sure if this will get transferred elsewhere or not.

Personally, I'm very happy Trump indicted at long last. However, my joy is tempered by mainstream media being somber, sober, politically-correct and polite last evening and through the night. Geez, like who died, or something?

I have lost count of the number of times the media is referring to this as "the documents case", or, "the boxes case" or the "storage room by the pool case". The news has lost the point that this is a national security case.

Few if any in the national media have stated "Trump is a threat to national security". Past, present and future. At a minimum, he should have any security clearance, present or future, revoked. This person cannot be trusted with hearing, seeing, touching or possessing any information of governmental value.

Finally, Trump didn't act alone. One or more Trump aides and allies in government obtained, retrieved, held onto documents for him. Amassed them. Boxed them. And shipped them to MAL. They are part of the wider conspiracy. And should be held equally accountable. All those who assisted Trump during 2020 and early 2021 to obtain these documents should be identified and indicted too. All are threats to national security.

Remember that news organizations have to differentiate between the plethora of different pending crimes and pending investigations into El Tr$mpo so that we readers can tell who's on first, what's on second, etc... (The many crimes and investigations make for one helluva scorecard to keep straight...) ;-)
