Professor Heather Cox Richardson publishes Letters from an American at least 6 days a week on substack... - I know this because I am a subscriber... she is followed by 1.4 million people on Facebook as she also publishes those letter there... she also has a quarter of a million followers on Twitter - though I'm not sure how many of the FB and Twitter followers subscribe to her on substack - she is brilliant and I never skip her letters... just sayin

Interesting read. I think that with the advent of the internet and online publication, it has always been inevitable that major media as we used to know it would have to drastically change or adapt. I genuinely believe that more people are now so fed up with the ramblings of so called journalists and their click bait that more and more are looking to read more serious journalists who have proven to meticulously research their work. I know, speaking personally, I am more than happy to subscribe to Proof because you have proven to be dedicated to truth and provable, well sourced information. I think that the days of click bait may be numbered as more and more people start to realise that many “journalists” cannot be trusted to be as committed to the truth.

Excellent piece. I subscribe/follow a number of quite varied Substack titles and have been surprised how seemingly under the radar it is. Your piece helped me understand (and articulated a shift my gut has been feeling about the direction of creator-centered publishing). Thanks - and thanks for making this shareable so I can promote Proof and Substack overall.

Great read... thank you for taking the time to research and write. It gives us hope, as we at HH have long been disillusioned with the media. Hence, the motivation to create our site. We have resisted asking for money and do not host any ads. We are truly self-funded. We're not in it for the money, but rather, for the ability to put forth our message on our terms.

By the way, HH has a link to PROOF on our front page. We hope it helps you get more readers.

I'm disgruntled that GG is going to get so much wealth on this platform. That's all I had to say.

So how these days do we consumers of info figure out who is a truth-teller, and who is just a person who writes rather clearly but is after the money?
