My stomach was in knots reading this as I realized what trump and his cabal of insurrectionists were trying to do here is to scare the shit out of anyone who was thinking of not supporting his desperate attempt to remain in power. He wanted every single senator and the VP to know he could call up his maggots and threaten their lives. I hope the House Impeachment Team knows about this.

Seth, I'm so impressed with all your work on this. Please, send it all to the appropriate people. I'm so sick of these Republicans and their allies conspiring for nefarious reasons. Meanwhile, many Senators don't want to even consider taking the trial seriously. WTH is wrong with these people? Are there no consequences for the planners/enablers of all the events? I pray the impeachment team also includes all the pre-insurrection activities in their presentations. Hope it's a slam dunk case so that 17 GOPers have to vote to convict.

I'm working on this issue right now. My understanding is that he was there in some form (present or by speakerphone) but I have temporarily edited the article to underscore that this requires more investigation.
A thought about Ali because I’ve watched A LOT of footage and I’m kind of obsessed with him …. at some point in an interview after the riot and before he vanished, he said that he received a text from someone in the White House or the Trump camp during the insurrection telling him to help stop the mob, or something to that effect. From what he was saying, it sounded very much like he was admitting to being at the Capitol. Plus there is video footage that looks spot on like him exiting the tunnel. I have screenshots if anyone needs them. But they're from a widely circulated video of people attacking the tunnel so it shouldn't be too hard to find.
I don't think this is him. The facial hair is different. At the rally earlier on Jan 6, he had only a mustache, and that wasn't the shape shown in this video. The glasses are not either of the two pairs he has worn in other photos. There is some similarity, though: This man is in a black generic sweatshirt-like garment as when Ali Alexander spoke at the really earlier in the day, and has pins on his hat. Alexander seems to be a fan of little metal pins; he appears in a couple photos and at the rally with various pins. But the chances this is the same guy are very small.
Veruca, I feel U on this. I have been tracking Ali since September when he came across my radar as a Biden campaign research volunteer. He launched a smear campaign against Biden via JoeBidenIsSick.Com (still active) & pushed the deza out via social media & surrogates. He was behind the "Kamala Harris is not a real black " birther 2.0 deza campaign in July also and brags about being at least partly responsible for Kayne joining the race. I have brought his dog & pony show to Biden campaign /inaugural staff several times already
