I am a subscriber, passing on pleas from fellow Alaskans to consider dropping the paywall for this article. We have a primary for the remainder of Don Young's term, our sole congressional seat in less than a month. We are once again facing the potential disaster of Palin's return to Alaskan politics. Alaskans must have access to this information as soon as possible. You have connected dots that we would not have realized and which could impact the coming race as well as potentially impact the future of American politics. I hope Palin can be a footnote, but right now that remains to be seen. Thank you for considering making this information available.

When I read Stev’s Twitter thread mentioning Sarah, I came upon your Tweet and headline Seth. I subscribed immediately. I’ll chip in the year’s $50 fee and still pay my monthly subscription if you can drop the paywall please! I have my mail in ballot for Young’s seat. I beseech you. Please help this Alaskan voter get this article out.

This is simply jaw-dropping, Seth. For years I (and I’m sure plenty of others) have casually thought Palin was simply a taste of things to come with Trump—that Palin would have been just as compliant with corruption and easily manipulated as Trump. Now to learn that not only was it true, but it was handled by many of the SAME PEOPLE in essentially the SAME WAY—-I’m speechless.

I feel the same way. I cannot remember the last time I stayed up all night working, but when I realized what we were seeing here and that it was something that had never come up during the many years I was writing the Proof books, I had to put everything else aside and out of mind and do research and write this article.

Saw Steve's thread on Twitter late last night and wondered what was going on. How in God's name are some of these people walking around free to damage our democracy? Scary info but thanks for informing us. Voting blue all the way. Hope it helps!

Palin lied about being pregnant and lied about her husband's "snow machine crash" and media skipped over it. She is a phony, she is still a danger. She is a gun nut also too. Very well written article - how Trump Tower is a place for foreign grifters and sabotage planners to hang out like his DC hotel bar was home to traitors plotting worldwide..

It'd be interesting to have someone as investigatively dedicated as Seth Abramson revisit the conundrum surrounding Sarah Palin's peculiar "pregnancy" with Trig. http://palingates.blogspot.com/2010/07/two-videos-about-babygate-sarah-palins.html

Seth Abramson has gone above and beyond the call of duty here. His encyclopedic understanding of Putin’s manipulation of the GOP is remarkable. This article is a must-read.

Finally. A plausible, believable explanation as to why Palin so quickly endorsed TFG, why Palin has chosen now to re-emerge, and why TFG immediately endorsed Palin's candidacy.

This article very clearly outlines why Palin's run for Alaska's only Senate seat must be defeated.

Just as an aside...that Alaskan Senate seat was held by Don Young since the 70s. Senator Young died, "unexpectedly", apparently losing consciousness on a plane. Senator Young was 88, but his "fortuitously timed" death (at least for Kremlin purposes) has not been explained.

It’s the same players over and over again…and we almost put an end to it…but they were pardoned or protected. How do we keep our democracy while working within the confines of our democratic laws? We can’t just jail these bad actors for being bad actors. I hope people watch The Game Change with open eyes this time. And this Twitter war might have just opened a Pandora’s box…

And good grief, you stayed up all night! Thank you for your dedication!

I was not surprised by Kremlin interference in 2016, and again the revelations here this time are quite (quite!) a shock but not a surprise. Over years the criminal oligarch Putin would correctly assess how he could attack the USA not in a hot war but via its politics, while most Americans were clueless about how GOP was weakening our system/govt/democracy from within, vulnerable to his attack. From 2012... http://www.civilpolitics.org/content/mann-ornstein-its-even-worse-it-looks/

But I saw this weakening begin sooner, via GOP religion, and like w politics, it opened a door to the Kremlin. A 2018 read covering such ...

but I had NO IDEA where to look. Just tha intuitive sense something was off. Like one of those long-lasting Viruses sapping life-force energy from OUR daily Life.

And tha Money available to a tiny businessperson was slowly drying up.

tha pieces to this thousand-piece puzzle were to few an far between to see any connection.

and even now they're hard to collect; much les 20-30+ years ago. These Phuckers have been gnawing at this for decades (kochs) an even now it's hard to get land a knock-out blow to this f-ing shitt..

I hear ya. 100% your last sentence! As a babyboomer (whose father fought fascism in Germany in Winter 1945), all my life I wondered how Germans succumbed to the evils of Nazism. It is like what happened to 1930s Germans, sharing an article I came across via https://www.thomhartmann.com/

Raised in (what is today) an urban/suburban Dem Blue area of Calif, I moved 45 years ago to a rural Calif area which, at the time was conservative Blue but turned GOP Red in 1980s and followed GOP's increasing rightward turn to end up becoming today's fascist extremism. I saw this turn happening via GOP politics and GOP religion. And, yes, via GOP catering to big business/great wealth over small business/middle class.

The fight will be through both our rights to protest, petition our Government, and most important our right to participate in what is called America's "bloodless revolution", our right to vote. The younger generations must now engage in this fight for democracy, freedom, America. GOP must be voted out of every office every level, DEM ONLY (no 3rd+ party voting) for generations to restore, rebuild, defend America. This will be the "knock-out blow to this f-ing shitt".

Given your description and prediction, Tulsi Gabbard fits the description of a future running mate for Trump. Watch her.

I fear you are correct.

The one thing I would say is that Tulsi Gabbard may be too much of a wild card for Trump. He wants someone extremely pliable and extremely loyal and whereas Palin writes books about “going rogue“ I think Gabbard is more likely to actually *do* so in a way Trump would dislike intensely.

But that said, it’s certainly not impossible and is a good catch/callback.

I was wondering about Gabbard myself. Yup, Gabbard isn't as pliable as Palin and wouldn't be as loyal. TFG wouldn't like her style at all. I can see that. Gabbard, though, is still dangerous, IMHO.

Your ability to recognize and research so many players, with so many links between them, amazes me. The possible combinations and recombinations constitute an enormous number. If we are able to save our democracy, you will have done much to aid the effort. Thank you.

Seth. I can't begin to thank you for all the hours upon hours of research that you do for us. Perhaps you could allow this article to be published in the newspapers in Alaska. Palin is running to be Senator and the people of Alaska deserve better.

Someday we will find out that there is deliberate coordination among autocratic forces in many different countries such as Russia, Poland, Hungary, France, and the United States. You are right to worry about how the democratic forces will be able to fight back. For starters they will have to put aside lesser policy wish lists and unite around preserving the fundamental principles of Western democracy.

Expand full comment

We already know there is deliberate coordination -- the IDU, the badly named International Democratic Union, headed by former Canadian Conservative (radical Reform and crypto-fascist) prime minister, Stephen Harper. Members include hard-right-wing politicians, organizations, and functionaries from around the world, whom the IDU works to assist with policy, election support, and financing. Heads of state in Poland, Belarus, and Hungary are actively involved. There is evidence that the IDU's early financial backers include the Koch brothers, who have of course been enthusiastic underminers of democracy in North America for decades.

Dear Robin,. I tried to answer you personally but it didn't go through. I didn't know about the existence of the IDU. Thanks for the information. Laura
