Trump adviser and ex-Overstock CEO Patrick Byrne just admitted knowledge of a January 6 coup plot in a wild, 85-minute videotaped confession. PROOF unpacks everything we now know—and it's shocking.
"That a Team Trump-Team Kraken strategy session held in Trump’s private residence 48 hours before the attack on the Capitol envisioned Republican politicians simply holding a “new vote” for President of the United States after “quickie hearings” on an issue Byrne had determined was terminally irresolvable on November 10 confirms that the “Green Bay Sweep” was just a brute-political-force coup plot using the pretext of foreign election interference as a triggering mechanism." THIS IS WHY WE SO NEED YOU TO WRITE THE WAY YOU DO, SETH! Triggering "sound-bites" and "short-hand" mechanisms of writing and thinking are why this country is in trouble. If we can't take the time to read something thoroughly, and analyze it, like you do Seth; then we don't deserve a democracy based on intellectual nuance- because we are in such a hurry to be rabid consumers of news for titillallar reasons instead of connoisseurs of deep thoughtfulness and intellectually complex principals.
Trump was presented concerns about Alexander et al provoking violence, then decided to ask the group of concern to lead the events on January 6th. He had been told that he couldn't delay the certification process long enough, but decided to do it anyway. This needs to be driven home repeatedly.
You are writing the roadmap for the committee and the FBI and the DOJ to nail the coup plotters including Trump, and it's better late than never for them to follow your lead. Because of the severe consequences and the discovery about Russian influence in electing Trump, do you feel Putin's invasion of Ukraine has anything at all to do with trying to knock this investigation off course until the election in November when things could totally change? The exposure of Russia's role in the 2016 election could be much more devastating than any sanctions placed on them IMO. I think the biggest voter fraud in history was Donald Trump becoming President in 2016.
The Russian role in electing him aside, the enduring consequences of them having him as their puppet in our highest office and his providing them our national security "secrets" needs to be fully explored so the harm can be curtailed.
I'll say a few things. Firstly, great work, as usual. It must be mind-numbing, but I'm glad you're on top of it.
Secondly, I second a few of the comments for an executive summary.
Thirdly, If you're digging up this much, and it takes this many words to communicate, imagine how challenging it will be for the January 6th Committee to publish their findings. It will be a tome, in many volumes. I for one am looking forward to their work product. Also, I'm looking for MANY more people to end up in hand-cuffs. This shit will continue if there are no consequences.
I was not aware of the Overstock guy’s video. Between this video and the Boris Epshteyn interviews, the fundamentals of the “self-coup” attempt are becoming fully exposed.
The way you have highlighted the inconsistency between the limited duration 2 hour procedural delays and the much longer timespan needed by the state legislatures is very compelling. It certainly seems to establish that the violent insurrection on J6 was an essential element of the coup attempt.
These people are all so dumb…they truly live in their self-created digital-political world as if the real world and actual laws doesn’t exist. “I have an idea…I’ll go on Rumble and explain everything and then they’ll understand “ thought Byrne to himself. Geez…
But, while all of this shocking yet not surprising, Trump and all the other goons thought that having Byrne in their company was a good idea? The guy that was duped into an affair with a Russian agent was someone they were ok with bringing into the White House?! I guess money is money. I also suppose we should be grateful they are so dumb…
And yes Seth, you are indeed an actual American hero. You set the bar early on for what we should expect from journalists and others when reporting on this American tragedy. Unfortunately, it may be set too high. Kudos to you.
Having been duped by a Russian "red sparrow" was probably considered a feature rather than a bug. He was compromised and had a lot of $ to help fund their operations, most of which I would consider "black ops" though maybe I conceive that term too broadly.
Thanks for posting the video. Is the Jan 6 Committee able to organise their material by using curational journalism and prosecution techniques? would you be able/ willing to help them?
You are doing it again, Seth. Thank you for digging up the nuggets of information from all this dirt.
I am still baffled at Trumps's role in all of this. On the one hand it is clear that he was willing to clutch at any straw presented to him in order to get the second term and thus his "stay out of jail-card". On the other hand it seems that he was mostly unable to really understand any of the plots presented to him and was just "going with the flow".
So, how much was he the instigator and how much was he simply the buffoon taking what was given to him by people who were hoping to keep him in office for their own purpose?
I have to support M.A. Herzog a little on this. As a Norwegian, and normally reading of the phone (the phone being the better alternativ «in my lap or in bed»), 17000 words is a bit too long, when the «Academic-Seth» outweighs the «Journalist-Seth» sentence-wise. Even a Summary of this would be a full-length op-ed in a broadsheet newspaper. Could we challenge you to make a summary in addition to the longest articles? We who trust you after years of following, may not need every single point founded by «three independent sources», but for your own cover, I also understand your need to leave no point without backing. That said, your work is brilliant and I can’t wait to see you get credit for getting the «last decade» of US politics right on spot.
Lee Child, who writes the Jack Reacher novels, said recently that when his readers compliment him it is often, “I liked your book, I got through it”. 😊
Except for someone not reading all of Seth’s work… it might get confusing if Seth didn’t detail everything…. I think John summed it up in a comment….

Does anyone know why I can’t view the video? It says the author won’t allow it. Did he (Byrne) lock it somehow?
Ok, after all of this, all I can think about (so I don't throw up) is how to structure a screenplay about these "best people." I'm thinking of some sort of combination of Money Heist, Oceans, and the Death of Stalin. Maybe start pre-election, have some elaborate run-throughs of the various schemes in fast forward, and then updating and replaying the schemes as time marches on and things go wrong. Plenty of post-modern breaking of the 4th wall after yet another wacko is introduced with some sort of less-central narrator asking, "Who the F is *this*?" followed by freeze-frame asides with their name, nutso CV, prior crimes, ties to Trump, etc. Madcap comedy with a cast of thousands.
Seth, amazing, detailed analysis once again! Our government sure could use someone like you to work for them or with the J6 Committee. I can't wait to see your journalistic and investigative influence in the public hearings! The amount of time you spend writing is mind-boggling. Glad you do it, though! When the MSM reports stuff, I tell my husband I already knew about that due to your reporting!! Look forward to the next article!
The loons are running the asylum, aren't they? I find Byrne's analogy to sleeves interesting. Who or what is the trunk these various sleeves come off of and whose brain is on top? Seth, I know you believe it's Trump, however if you study group dynamics like I have, you'd know that the figurehead, the spokesperson is usually not the one calling the shots. In this case, I think the guy who has been the most quiet about his role(just like the fundamentalists in "the Family" have been taught to be) is Michael Flynn. Who else has some sort of connection to all the various "sleeves" in this story.

Well said!

Wow. Excellent breakdown.

WOW!!😳 I don’t know why MSM refuse to have you on TV! You are far the best reporter we have on this case!!
Thanks for posting the video. Is the Jan 6 Committee able to organise their material by using curational journalism and prosecution techniques? would you be able/ willing to help them?
Yes and yes.
Have you had any converstions with any members of the Jan 6 Committee?
The Committee has reached out to me. I can't say more than that.
Thank God!!! ❤️ Someday you will get the Presidential Freedom award & a Pulitzer!
Yes thank you God for Seth
Glad to hear that because I know Capitol Hunters group submitted your work on multiple occasions
YES!! Thanks so much for all you do!
My head is spinning…we must demand all involved be held accountable

You need to learn how to write concisely. Despite my interest I couldn’t get through it. It was too long.
I appreciate the feedback, Mary. Thanks.

Can’t seem to watch the video; says the author only lets some people view it… ideas??

This, of course, is an optimistic hope, imagining a successful prosecution of 1/6 conspirators.

Stellar reporting, Seth! Glad to hear J6C reached out to you. Your knowledge would be a definite asset.
