Not a question but wanted to thank you for all your hard work on twitter over the last few years. Have followed your feed throughout the trump madness and your insights helped me loads. I've also been passing on your insights to both my children (11 and 15) on many school runs in the morning and they are also "experts" now . So it's not just your "followers" that you have an impact on , it's everyone they then pass that onto. You kept us all sane when it looked like this madness was going to be the new norm .... And we live in the UK so not as directly impacted as the US! If only we could reverse brexit that would be a good 2021 .... Will defo be subscribing to carry on keeping up to date.

I totally agree! Seth, you have been a voice of reason throughout these long 4 years! I’ve read Proof of Conspiracy and Proof of Collusion. Both helped me enormously, while dealing with a family of MAGAts!

Echo Jon and Judy. Thanks so much!

Will there be a "Proof of Sedition" installment to the "Proof of..." trilogy? Please, please, pretty please?

Expand full comment

I honestly don't know. I am open to something like this, but there are a lot of moving pieces in play. I can say that it galls me to have written 2,500 pages about the Trump presidency and never have written about the one event it will be most remembered for. We'll see what happens.

Proof of Sedition sounds like a good name for a podcast. Or maybe just Proof!

Yes please!

Has law enforcement made use of your connecting the dots for Jan 6? Thank you greatly for your work,

Expand full comment

I can't confirm it for certain, but I believe so based on what I'm hearing about where law enforcement saw certain videos of insurrectionists first.

Do you think that hardcore Trumpists will turn against Trump if he does not complete the insurrection/coup by Inauguration Day and softens his calls for violence?

Expand full comment

We're already seeing significant MAGA anger at Trump for seeming to "roll over" with his last recorded video. I do think Trump's base will splinter a bit, even as Trumpism continues, as between the QAnon folks and the Boogaloo/militia/endtimes folks particularly. It will be interesting to see what evangelical voters do now that Trump isn't God's chosen vessel anymore.

The evangelicals have behaved disgracefully these past 4-6 years. We shall see for sure.

Can we just pause a moment and appreciate CP officer Eugene Goodman for as far as I can tell giving us this opportunity to discuss *anything* besides what would very likely be deceased elected officials? I mean Goodman is a hella good man!

Goodman deserves a Congressional medal and I do believe he will get one.

Yes very brave

How broke is Trump 'bout to be? I heard about the Deutche Bank thing and of course we know he owes 4mil+ to someone... plus Forbes telling everyone within Trump's radius that they'll never have jobs again. Does he have enough cultist money to make up for it, or are we looking at him sitting in the poor house?

Expand full comment

He's about to be hella broke.

Expand full comment

I don't trust that Deutche Bank is really doing as they say. They don't have the best track record.

Do you think there will allot more violence in the coming days? Coming year?

Expand full comment

I think there will be sporadic Trumpist violence for a long time to come.

A secret vote on indictment in the senate would relieve the fear that republicans fear of reprisals from Trumpists. Am I correct in believing the Senate can vote on indictment without a roll call if there isn't 20% of members present asking for a roll call - effectively a secret vote? Do you think this secret vote scenario can be achieved?

What are your thoughts on the prevalence of the "End Times" ideology (#endtimes) among radical MAGA? It's been around for a century & quite prominent in the conservative political class - rekindled by Reagan's SCOTUS fail Robert Bork in the 90s - and is something I've seen pop up on a ton of MAGA parler screenshots + private jet lady.

Expand full comment

I think Jared Yates Sexton's book on this is excellent. Trumpism arises from a "death-cult" mentality that has long infected much of the political right, including certain evangelicals (e.g., Dominionists).

Are Bitcoin payments actually traceable?

Expand full comment

I'm not an expert in that, so I don't know. My understanding was that they're not supposed to be, but the FBI has methods beyond our knowledge or understanding when it comes to tracking currency exchanges. Plus they have warrants if they want them.

Expand full comment

Bitcoin transactions are all public, searchable and permanently recorded. There are methods to disguise source/recipients however.

In your Twitter post laying out the potential timeline, motive, and key players that led to January 6, you mention Gosar, Biggs, and Tuberville as possible inside accomplices (along with Brooks as a possible outside accomplice). Do you believe any of them could be involved in the Capitol tours, lack of proper Capitol Police preparation, and/or the removal of panic buttons from some lawmakers' offices?

Expand full comment

I don't know about the panic buttons—that was more likely either an unrelated hiccup or something related to actions by USCP—but the tours will likely turn out to involve at least one member of the Gosar-Biggs-Brooks trio, I should think.

What can be done to make sure no president can act as unilaterally and even illegally as Trump has? There are so many ways he stepped over the line by thumbing his nose at laws and conventions.

Do you think Charges will be levied regarding Trump’s violations of our emoluments clause?

Expand full comment

No, only because it's so far back in the queue of potential charges. But certainly his bribery, extortion, quid pro quos, and corruption will be evidence in various cases against him.

Expand full comment

I think a comedian could have a best seller exposing the petty charges the t family has been reimbursed by the american taxpayer. It might effective to make them look like petty cheap fools than like sinister gangsters.

Now that we know Rebekah Mercer was providing financial support for Parler, and it's possible Parler's concept was born in Russia, do you think the Mercers have anything to do with funding the insurrection events?

Expand full comment

No one would be surprised if they were behind one or more of the pro-Trump "dark money" PACs that CNBC reports funded the January 6 event that helped incite the insurrection.

How has Erik Prince escaped persecution, and do you think he is behind any insurrection events?

I think a lot of people are afraid of him politically and otherwise, and yes.
