The consequences of the ruling—legal and political—lie well beyond what major-media talking heads are acknowledging, and oddly are ruinous for not just our democracy but certain Trump talking points.
We are the only remedy to all this corruptness. The remedy is us, we have to vote, and the turnout has to be so huge that we keep the Senate and regain the House. We can't just rely on the courts as convict Trump has poisoned the judicial process to his benefit, that much is obvious. It has to be us. We need to rise up and vote for our democracy this November.
The downfall occurred when the republicans stacked the supreme court. Everything else since that successful coup is intriguing, and important to document. But, the fix has been in--the coup has already occurred.
And who is looking at nazi judge cannon and her background? What payments has she received? Who has she talked to at the nazi heritage foundation? Who is looking into her???
The largest mistake this country will ever have the chance to make happened the morning of Jan 07, 2021 - in a joint session Congress should have impeached the orange stain, removed him and dragged him out of the White House and imprisoned him for the rest of his life and then incinerated the corpse and spread it on the ocean a 100 miles from land.
They should have brought out large metal fencing outside the capitol to create temporary holding pens and put all the insurrectionists in them that night -- could have set up guard posts and sorted out the charges the next day. It would have reinforced the magnitude of the crimes, kept it in the public eye and moved those court cases along more quickly. And, obviously, our justice system needs to treat Trump like the criminal that he is.
I suspect that Jack Smith will appeal Cannon's dismissal and will probably ask for Cannon to be recused, but that takes time. I don't think anyone expected this case to move forward before the election. If the 11th Circuit overrules Cannon and assigns another judge there won't be a Circuit split with DC since we know Trump will file the same motion there so that would keep it out of the Supreme Court for a while. The other thing that I haven't seen any press address is the black hole of information on Trump's physical health. We didn't see anyone associated with the hospital talk to the press about Trump's injury after the shooting (which can never be condoned). Was his injury the result of a bullet or from some debris from a teleprompter or something else? Someone still shot at him, but I think voters should be told the extent of the injury. Did it require stitches? The last we had any official information about Trump's physical health was April 2020. At that time he had heart disease (his plaque build up was getting worse), his BMI indicated that he was obese and he suffered from high blood pressure and high cholesterol. What is his physical health now and why aren't the press and pundits calling this out. Is his medical situation under audit like his tax returns (which no one is pressuring him to release). And, where are the calls for Trump to absolutely promise to put his businesses into a real blind trust, not hand them over to his sons. I know, lots of luck on that front.
Someone should be keeping a tally of all the millions we taxpayers are spending on Trump dragging the SS around to his properties. It's a major grift and we are all so tired that no one keeps track, but it's an ongoing con.
I have seen the numbers from time to time. Someone every suggested that Trump was going to stay in Chicago at his hotel instead of in Minneapolis so he could make money while at the convention. I don't know if this is actually going to happen though.
I heard he cancelled the Chicago stay after there was significant push back. Trust me, he would have been heckled in Chicago. Poor thing will have to pay for a hotel somewhere in Milwaukee now.
Didn’t we already know he wouldn’t be judged in these cases until after the election? Isn’t there a possibility that Cannon will be over-ruled, especially since Thomas told her to do it? I’m trying to keep my equilibrium.
This can't be the end. Besides everyone voting against Trump and his sycophants, what else can be done? Why not have President Biden inform Americans exactly what documents Trump stole and arrest Trump anyway? President Biden has full immunity.
What about Roger Stone's claim that he & others are very able to contact important judges related to Trump connected cases?? I believe Seth Abramson is the person who pointed out that Roger Stone would not be talking about unknown future local / state judges in "swing states."

It feels like we Americans have been bamboozled by dark moneyed right-wing extremists working overtime on the Nazification of our country.
