The most striking angle to this, for me, is how it all reinforces their cult. They are closing the ranks of what is acceptable as reality. The more closed their world gets, the more it all reinforces the nonsense, lies, and conspiracies they believe and frames the real world and truth as an enemy.
Yes. And this framing denoting enemy began under '90s Newt Gingrich, w his list of words (compiled w Frank Luntz) he distributed in a pamphlet to GOP, Language: A Key Mechanism of Control. Democrats became Newt's "enemies of normal people". And over time truth would be seen by the American far right as whatever they say it is, echoing Russia's "Firehose of Falsehood". Where the USSR used truth/lies against the USA, Putin's Russia spun the status of truth itself into a whirlwind of confusion.
It seems to me it’s just a back door way to funnel all these consumers into the few shoddy right-wing-run companies that “pass muster,” thereby inflating their customer base and no doubt providing Trump Inc with kickbacks for the favor. I was actually referring to one of Seth's reports outlining that one of the religious rights groups was attempting to get 3 states and part of 2 states to secede from the union and then unify. The plan is for these folks to move there because we were actually in a religious war! I think it was part of the item that shared Ali Alexander's interview by the Militant Catholic.
