I still wish I understood why Chris Hedges thinks Russia was not involved in the 2016 election. That just boggles my mind. If you know anything, please advise. I don’t understand.

I'm very familiar with Chris Hedges from my past years of activism for Palestinian rights. He sells extremism, hyperbole and fantasy.

I don't care what Hedges "thinks." He's a waste of time. Recently he wrote some very leftist weird paranoid crap about the war in Ukraine, with no verification of the nonsense he spewed. Hedges sells doom; reading him long enough and you'll end up with a case of clinical depression, or with an attitude so negative that you won't see the point in voting or believing in anything. To me, he's toxic.

Thank you so much for answering me. I’m so glad I’m not the only person that thought that. He does put out a good post every now and then in between the wackadoodle shit that he puts out, I get them in my email and every now and then I’ll read one, when it’s not his stupid bullshit. Like Russia had nothing to do with the 2016 election, really? I don’t know how he could ever prove that to me.

I like his book "Empire of Illusion," but since it was published he seems to have slid steeply downhill. I think he gravitates toward conspiracy theories and just plain "whatever the mainstream media says, they're in cahoots with whomever," and worse, he refuses to believe anyone in the government doesn't have a hidden agenda. In fact, he's another Glenn Greenwald. For the life of me, I always wonder how both of them, well educated men, can be such wingnuts.

Yeah it’s a shame, really. Trying to act like the government censored Twitter, really? What happened to people understanding the purpose of government? The lying cheating powers that be (the big money interests who actually have power) made people hate the government when it’s the only thing that can protect us at all. (They’ve gotten rid of the social safety net already, at this point it’s just a myth). The idiots create terrorists every day when they turn something like the Twitter files into some dastardly deeds that didn’t actually happen. It gets people killed. It’s a shame but I’m glad I’m not the only one who was so confused by Chris Hedges.

Why would any journalist worth his salt quit working at the NY Times, a news venue where he could've reached millions of readers every day? Who does that? Hedges did. In fact, he seems not to be able to hold down a job.

He sounds like a "useful idiot" to me.
